Ontario Provincial Business Nominee Program
Ontario welcomes business immigrants who have a solid background in business, sufficient financial assets to establish themselves in Ontario and a demonstrated enthusiasm for engaging in business after landing in Canada.
Ontario, which is one of Canada’s most prosperous provinces, expects to remain one of the fastest-growing regions in the advanced industrial world.
The province of Ontario has a diverse economy, with extensive manufacturing, financial and business services. Ontario makes up 40 per cent of Canada’s total economic output and more than half of the country’s manufacturing shipments. In recent years there has been a big shift towards producing exports, especially in areas such as information technology, and the automotive and chemical industries.
The Ontario Provincial Nominee Program For Business is designed for businesses or businessmen who are prepared to make an investment in the province. The business person is required to control, or plan to control at least 33.33% of the equity in a business, or make a business investment of at least $1,000,000.
General Requirements
Invest minimum CAN$1,000,000 in a new business.
No minimum personal net worth required.
Be actively involved in the day-to-day management of the business.
Business ownership experience, or experience in a senior management role.
Comprehensive business plan
The investment must create at least five permanent full-time jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents in Ontario.
